Midyear Studies.

On-line and In the Field.

  • Foundations.

The on-line Midyear Foundations work deepens the inner life of the teacher through a structured and nourishing cycle of study, practice, and reflection. During this phase, participants engage with Rudolf Steiner’s How to Know Higher Worlds, exploring its practical guidance for developing inner stability, clarity, and presence. We work systematically with the Six Basic Exercises—thought control, will exercises, equanimity, positivity, open-mindedness, and balance—strengthening the teacher’s ability to meet the classroom with calm intention and awake perception. Complementing this work, we draw on Jennifer Fox’s Biography exercises, which help teachers understand the shaping forces of their own life paths and cultivate compassionate insight into the developmental journeys of others. Together, these practices form a foundation for soulful, grounded teaching and a deepened understanding of the human being.

  • Mentoring/Observation.

The Mentoring and Observation work provides teachers with individualized, relationship-based support that brings the art of teaching to life. Each participant is paired with an experienced Waldorf educator who offers warm, practical guidance through lesson planning, developmental understanding, classroom rhythm, and meeting the needs of every student. Classroom observations—whether in person or virtual—offer mentors a living picture of the teacher’s work, allowing feedback to be specific, supportive, and attuned to the realities of the classroom. This process is anchored in reflective conversation, shared inquiry, and the cultivation of the teacher’s capacities in thinking, feeling, and willing. Through mentoring and observation, teachers gain confidence, clarity, and renewed artistry, strengthening both their individual practice and their contribution to the life of their school.
